Sainul belongs to Chemmen Kadavu a beautiful village of Malappuram District in Kerala-" God's Own Country". Malappuram is the first Computer Literate district in the Country (More..). Sainul is currently heading the Central Library, of Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER Thiruvananthapuram).
Dr.Sainul has over 15 years of professional experience in prestigious libraries including the ones at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram, Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala,(IIITM-K) Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, Indian Institute of Technology,(IIT) Kharagpur, Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT), Bangalore and International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials, Hyderabad.
Dr. Sainul is a VLIR Scholar in Scientific and Technological Information Management offered by Flemish Inter University Council, Belgium and was an invitee to the 3rd Word Congress of Integrated Set of Information Systems held in Rio De Janeiro 2008, with travel grant from the UNESCO. Dr.Sainul is a member (Representing Asia/Pacific) to the International Coordination Committee of Integrated Set of Information Systems constituted by UNESCO. Sainul was an Executive Committee member of Kerala Library Association (KLA), and member of other professional organization.
A First Rank holder in Associateship in Documentation and Information Science from Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC), Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore, he also has BSc. degree in Zoology and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA). He did PhD, from the University of Pune under the guidance of Dr. ARD Prasad, Head, DRTC, Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore.
He has conceptualized and developed various e-resource management systems using GenISISWeb like ‘Mudil’ Multimedia Digital Library, E-journals Gateway, Software Library, Web OPACs, Institutional repository of Theses and dissertations etc at IIITM-Kerala. He has been conceptualising and implementing modern information services in vareous organisation during his career. He has been associated with organizing various Workshops and training Programme in national, inernational and regional level on vareous aspects of information systems and services.
Dr. Sainul has written several papers and attended many conferences, served as resource person and guided students in building Information systems. He has visited countries like Brazil, Belgium, France, Germany and Srilanka.
